Changing the world, one little step at a time, can be accomplished by any Jesus-lover. Jesus was THE radical world-changer of His day. And now this same Man lives in you and me.
We are all born with a desire to have an impact, to be important. Our good Father gives us areas of influence – like parcels of “land” – where we can express passion for change that leads to righteous justice, peace, hope. It takes some creativity and boldness to express this passion. Boldness to strip off passivity, fear of man, and victim mentality – and more courage to “stand up” in our heart and mind, to be conscious of the influence given to us, and to manage it well.
You and I were born into wisdom ( “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding…” Isa 11:2). We have full access to every solution, because Jesus is in us and our Father gives every good and perfect gift readily, effortlessly, in every venue (Col 1:27, Jam 1:17). The world needs to know what to do with looming problems. People want to be un-lonely. Businesses need to succeed. Families desire reconciliation and wholeness.
Hey, I believe you have unique places of influence which are waiting for you to stand up and embrace your calling there. It could be your family, your workplace, your prayer group, your grocery store clerk, your neighbor, your social media writings. Be sure of this: You were created for greatness, which means you have all that you need to make others great. You do it by partnering with Jesus. He is your inspiration and source.
This morning I finished reading an inspiring article about influence by Rick Joyner. His research tells us that “just one high-impact person with courage and resolve can be worth hundreds or even thousands of lukewarm people. Studies have shown the numbers needed to bring radical cultural change can be as little as the square root of 1% of the population. This means just one hundred people can bring radical change to a million.” (1)
Oh yes, you can be one of the hundred. Or radically be the one.
