He is the Greater-Than God, the Greater-Works God, who is alive in you and me. As believers, we are in the days of partnering with God – anywhere, anytime, anyplace – where we function outside of the world’s box of what is possible, and soar in experiencing out-of-this-world possibilities at home, in the prayer room, at our workplace job. (You might want to read the preceding blog article, “God Loves Business” .)
For God’s sons and daughters, it is a day of Light, not darkness. We are sons of light. His light in us – His truth, His resurrection life, His triumphant victory – enables us to live above the crowd, even above the global crises. Believing and responding to God’s hope-filled light in this age, and not cowering to man, is a great work of faith.
Today we live in a more intense darkness than when Jesus lived on the earth. Jesus said we would do greater works, even in the days of greater darkness (“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father,” John 14:21). Isaiah said we will shine brighter – more and more – until the day of His return. (“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; But the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you.” Isaiah 60:1-2)
Consider the day and hour in which we live, when men’s hearts faint with fear (“…men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken,” Luke 21:26). To live above that, to not be consumed by it, but to see God in the abundance of hope, and the greatness of who He is and His love, to embrace this and to be consumed by it – this is a greater work. Living in this way is a superior occupation, beyond that of the earth and enemies. It is the greater witness of the Supremacy, Power, the Almighty-ness of God, who enables us to walk in these greater works.
Living above the negativity of the day — living above the darkness of the day, living in integrity, as a Nazarite in the workplace, living as a son, walking with God in everyday life — is a greater work.In Jesus, we have everything to outrank negative perspectives.
Our story: Greater works trump the evil of today.
*Holy Spirit, help us believe. We want to believe. We want You to open our eyes to see the powerful strategies for creative greater works today – everywhere, anytime, everyplace.*
